sometimes its an awkward sensation to hear a song that you know you’ve heard before. But you heard it from a live band. I saw a friend of mine play with her band a few months ago and they played this song i thought was really catchy but couldnt put my finger on where it was from. something today must have clicked and when All the Things That I’ve Done by the killers came on my shuffle it was right and i knew that was the song my friend’s band had played. there is no doubt in my mind that i’ve heard the killers rendition of this song countless times since hearing this band, but today was right. interesting.

Being a Chicagoan, of course I’m disheartened by the fact that they Bears lost the super bowl. If only it all could have been over after those first amazing 14 seconds of the game. But it wasn’t over. And they lost. But people keep asking, “why did they lose!?” Well, I have the answer. It’s because the Colts scored more points and defended their end zone better. “How could they have won?!” well, the bears scored fewer points. Duh. On my drive to school this morning, every radio station was ripping apart every play and player looking for a scapegoat. One station asked listeners to call in and tell who they blamed for the loss. I had to restrain myself from calling in and saying “well. It’s the colts’s fault. They scored too many points.” I wasn’t scared off by the thought of getting chewed out by the DJ as well as the hundreds of people who would call in later and say it was all Rex Grossman’s fault, I was only restraining myself because it is dangerous to use your cell phone while driving. BMD is code for Burritos of Mass Destruction which is code for chipotle. I mean seriously. have you seen these things? THEY ARE MASSIVE. Massive and delicious. But its not the delicious part I have a problem with. Its the massive.

If you’ve never been to chipotle before, let me give you a quick run down of what goes on. You go in and you tell the person ‘yo. gimme a burrito/burritobol/tacos/salad’ and they get you started. There are no sizes. the only size they offer at chipotle is super colossal*. Then you pick out the stuff you want inside, which also comes in the one size, super colossal.

Basically they haven’t heard about too much of a good thing. Or they have, and have just decided to use my lack of self control and poor memory against me because everytime I get a craving for Chipotle, i seem to forget that these burritos are just prodigious*. No matter what the sensible side of me says to tell the hungry side that it is just too much that i should just go make a PB&J or something, the hungry side always retorts something ridiculous like “BUT I COULD EAT A HORSE RIGHT NOW I AM SO HUNGRY.” The hungry side always whips the sensible sides booty and i end up with this humongous mass of comestibles** right in front of me. And i proceed to eat it. All of it. Untill i have to scoop that very last bit of rice and tortilla out of the aluminum foil wrapper and toss it into my mouth. Then the regret begins to set in. Usually after consuming this monstrosity, i will take a nap or something that allows me to slip into my sloth**. But not this time. No. This time i was upset enough about eating this much food, that I had to dedicate an entire blog post to it. Not that it takes anything particularly interesting or amazing to provoke a blog post out of me. Whatever.

 

*I’d just like to let everyone know that i didnt come up with these words all on my own. I thesaurus.com’d it. Sweet. But dont go thinking i’m going to cite them in proper MLA format or anything. I’m just tipping my hat to that sweet site.

** I actually did come up with these words on my own.

okay. so i understand that they are trying to advertise for their reversible microfiber down comforter, but who do they think they are encouraging people to buy 4 of them. No one is that cold. No one needs 4 down comforters. not even if you live outside. in alaska. God. and even though they are trying to display all their terrific colors, they dont match eachother. so on an marketing level, this ad is counterproductive. it says to me “BUY OUR SWEET BLANKETS! THEY LOOK UGLY NEXT TO ALL THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW!” i’m just stoked to go out and buy one. not even kidding. but actually i am kidding.

 

 

its kind of depressing that more people arent naming their kids zeb. i like that name.
