my graduation party was on saturday and it was a complete success. My closest friends all came and mingled with my family and life coaches. And by life coaches I mean i have weird old friends. Like 40 year olds. Its complicated. Don’t worry about it.
but the party was great. Aside from one disastrous number, Vague Babies performed pretty well. I made a dress the night before that turned out to be pretty adorable and worked out well for me. Pictures to come.
Today i’m going to get some ballin bubble tea from BeBoBa and then return some sound equipment and go see my lawrence, kansas buddies– Baby Birds Don’t Drink Milk.
road trip suggestions? i had been planning on going to Lawrence, KS, but i’m open to other options. let me know.
i am excited for april for a lot of reasons. i gave adrian a list, but i dont really remember most of it. so i’ll just trust that i am going to have a decent april.
oh mah gahd you dont even know how good this stuff is. when i went to pitchfork this summer, fuze was a sponsor and they were giving away free samples all dayyy. so good. and at the end of the day i also realized i hadnt eaten anything, which, obviously, is not me. i think this stuff has an appetite supressant. i might be making that up. here goes a fact checking expedition:
okay so it looks like they have a few different kind of drinks, one of them called slenderize, which must have been the pitchfork plug because i didnt eat ANYTHANNg. they say nothing about appetite suppressant, but i will check the label if i can goad mom into driving me to CVS or something to pick it up because, considering i almost fainted on our expedition to CVS this morning when i was going to die if i didnt get some new facewash, she is not letting me drive.
anyways. that was a nice graceful return to me being sick. i am about to google for celebrities when they are sick. okay so all ’sick celebrities’ yielded were ‘healthy’ pictures of Michael Jacksone, Celine Dion and some Amy Winehouse-Drew Barrymore love child. whatever. i am not searching further. i’m sick and i need a nap.
–My friend julian and i spend a lot of time lately playing with his ipod touch because its still a novelty to be able to use the internet on a little tiny hand held thing during anatomy class. Not when we are supposed to be working. we had a substitute i swear. but anyways. so i tried to post a blog from the ipod but it was a no go for entering text into anything other than the title box.
–ronak is a friend of mine who was fed up with not being mentioned in this blog while many of our other friends were mentioned. I had actually intended to post an entire essay dedicated to him complete with a picture of him and everything. the day i had intended to do it during third period the computers in the school were down and then i had to do work the rest of the week and then i went to boston early saturday morning. i got into chicago at 830 am this morning at took the blue line train to school to take some finals. So obviously there has been no time for me to dedicate a post to ronak. but i suppose this is a bit of one. ronak is cool. here is a picture:

but yeah. sorry for that silly xanga-circa 7th grade- title only-post.
in other news: major progress on the embroidery project. pictures to come later…
On a usual drive to school I manage to get some quality music time. I spend more time than I should in the garage in the morning trying to decide what to listen to. This morning I was really pumped. I was going to listen to The Who’s ‘Tommy” on the rides to and from school. I get in my garage and although I had already made my music selection, I was delayed by another issue. My ipod was not in my purse. Sometimes my purse is just really junky so I spent a lot of time making sure it wasn’t hiding under a receipt from starbucks or a scavenged sewing pattern. By the time I had concluded that my ipod was for sure not in my purse I definitely had to go. So I pulled out. Sans ipod. And I did something revolutionary. I turned on the radio. WFMT was on and I’m a fan of classical music, but I dont need to be chillin that hard when I’m doing my best to stay awake at the wheel. So I decided I wanted to hear some oldies. It was glorious.
here is what i heard on the way down to school.:
Glorious. They do this thing called the ’short-stack’ where they have people send in 3 song mixes that all have something in common and people call in and try to guess their common trait. I was listening to the righteous brothers and the beach boys thinking this mix can only be 1 of 2 things: songs with sweet-ass male harmonies or songs that Bradford Cox/Atlas Sound should cover. It turns out Glen Campbell played on those three tracks, but whatever. I stand by my guesses.
::UPDATE!!!::
i was in second period when i wrote this. I opened my backpack during 4th and found my ipod had been thrown into my backpack rather than my purse. i never do that. an early morning accident obviously. Whatever. it was fate. if i hadnt misplaced my ipod i wouldnt have listened to the radio and had this terribly exciting post.
Being a Chicagoan, of course I’m disheartened by the fact that they Bears lost the super bowl. If only it all could have been over after those first amazing 14 seconds of the game. But it wasn’t over. And they lost. But people keep asking, “why did they lose!?” Well, I have the answer. It’s because the Colts scored more points and defended their end zone better. “How could they have won?!” well, the bears scored fewer points. Duh. On my drive to school this morning, every radio station was ripping apart every play and player looking for a scapegoat. One station asked listeners to call in and tell who they blamed for the loss. I had to restrain myself from calling in and saying “well. It’s the colts’s fault. They scored too many points.” I wasn’t scared off by the thought of getting chewed out by the DJ as well as the hundreds of people who would call in later and say it was all Rex Grossman’s fault, I was only restraining myself because it is dangerous to use your cell phone while driving. This has been a public service announcement by MadelineAwesome.

it snowed in chicago today. but not any kind of snow you will find if you use yahoo to image search for snow. it was nice and fluffy and light. It was a little depressing that i could not leave my desk to go check it out and announce to every passing hobo “CHECK IT OUT! ITS SNOWING”
i also did not get to open my mouth and devour all the smog of city air while catching a little bit of acid-snow in my mouth.
what a depressing day.
